A Small Conversation with Priyamvada Singh Ji Meja Rawat Amar Singh Ji was granted the Jagir of Meja by Maharana Shambhu Singh Ji of Mewar in 1871, and Meja was included in the ‘Umraos’ – the highest feudal barons of Mewar. The construction of Meja Garh was completed around 1875. Rawat Amar Singh Ji’s successor Rawat Raj Singh Ji was an honourable member of the highest Appellate Tribunal of Mewar known as the ‘Mahendra Raj Sabha’. Rawat Raj Singh Ji was succeeded by his son Rawat Jai Singh Ji who was well known in the region for his spirituality, knowledge and philanthropy. His contribution in the progress of Meja is invaluable. Rawat Jai Singh Ji was succeeded by his son Rawat Hamir Singh Ji. Hamir Singh Ji was unanimously elected as the Sarpanch for several terms and served the people selflessly for decades. It was during his term as Sarpanch that Meja obtained its water scheme and electrification. He also served as the Chairman Railway Recruitment Board Ajmer and received a lot of appreciation for his efficiency and transparency. As Chief Patron of organisations like Kshtriya Pratibha Vikas evam Shodh Sansthan Ajmer and Jaimal Trust Pushkar, he carried forward the philanthropic legacy of his father. Rawat Hamir Singh Ji was succeeded by his son Rawat Jitendra Singh Ji in 2014. Rawat Jitendra Singh Ji served as a senior beaurocrat with the Government of Rajasthan for more than three decades, and retired as Additional Transport Commissioner few years ago.
